London!

We had a very good flight from Boston, the GF meal was great, the ear plugs worked amazingly well, and we saw both the sunset and the sunrise, beautiful! Out hotel is lovely, Located in Kensington, a beautiful neighborhood. Reception allowed us to move into our room early fortunately. We were exhausted!! We took a little nap and then went out walking. We were so tired when we returned to our room, that we succumbed to the lure of room service.

We have a big day tomorrow: the hop on, hop off bus tour! And, the weather is supposed to be great. We’ve just finished visiting with our newest Chabinsky relative, a Londoner, we are having some green tea, taking hot showers, and will slip under the covers with our respective reading material. A good night’s sleep and we’ll be all set for tomorrow!

Today I cast on the stitches for the Harry Potter hat(s) i’ll be working on during this trip. Circular needles are a safe bet here in the states, but boarding the plane on the return trip might prove tricky. I have stitch holders if I have to give up my needle!  Aren’t the colors beautiful?

Getting Packed

For my oldest granddaughter’s tenth birthday, I’m taking her to England and Paris…her requested destinations. We’re leaving on Sunday so I’m in the throws of sorting, buying and packing. I found the yarn I needed for the Harry Potter hats I’ll be knitting while away, (don’t worry sister knitters, I have round stitch holders in case they take my needles away!), the perfect shoes, and the not-so-perfect shoulder bag. Still working on that one. I’ll spend a night or two at the beach house before the pixie queen arrives on Saturday, and then we’re off on our adventure! Wahoooo!
