Missing photos

Two photos are missing from the last post-strange. Anyway, here they are….and here are the tags from that last post too!

This is my new spot in the art room….a cozy chair and yarn nearby. Orange is an unusual color for me and that’s why I like this. I needed a place to sit comfortably and look at a book for inspiration or just look out the window and daydream. Before purchasing this chair at Home Goods I had only hard wooden chairs. Now I am really jazzed to reorganize the rest of the room!

Speaking of yarn, here are the finished socks in that fabulous yarn. I have to go searching through my stash for yarn for another pair. I’m sure I have some…heehee.

Warm and toasty for the cold snowy nights that I love. Here’s a purple sweater, a cardigan I am making for myself.

That is a flower pattern on the upper back. I’m pretty sure no one will be able to figure that out, but I like it anyway.

Still working on the second quilt, in fact I’m kind of dragging on it, but Sammy has discovered that what he originally thought, (being on my lap under the quilt), was no fun, actually is pretty cool, well warm really.

And here is my solution to cold winter days-go to Lowes and buy yourself an orchid. They are only about $16, look fabulous, and last a long time before the blossoms die-costing less than and lasting longer than and looking better than your average bouquet of flowers.

Cheers, Jai, and stay warm friends!

A New Year

This month was supposed to be the month of ‘me’. So far, it’s the month of everything else! Some things are unavoidable, so, I’ll just extend this 4 weeks for myself into February! I’ve been on the go since May, so I thought January would be a great time to take some down time and focus on pampering myself and spending time doing what I love.

The December Enlightenment Course went super well, so well that I am working on something new to be unveiled soon…yummy! And we have a number of other projects to work on: the kitchen renovation project will start in April so we’re in the midst of deciding paint colors, tile, flooring and lighting. Another project crowding my brain is planning the trip to Scotland with grandchild #2. I’ve been there before so it’s not a complete scour, but still lots to figure out. The book is starting to coalesce into something with a real direction, and that is scary and exciting at the same time!

Right now I am still quilting the second quilt, which was supposed to be done for Christmas 😦 but I am making some fabulous socks!

This shot was taken in the car on our way to CT…aren’t the colors amazing! Here’s the finished sock:

These are going to be great for wearing on the cold mornings. I can’t believe I have fallen in love with something I resisted for so long, sock knitting…..second one is half done!

I have to share my favorite Christmas present…..this precious tea cup with it’s own strainer and lid….LOVE!

Image

I use it every day for my chai.

I have started another sweater for myself, having not finished the last one yet….did I say it was the month of me? 🙂

The blog was on the backburner for December as I was busy with the online course and the December scrapbook, but look for more regular posts from now on!

Cheers!
