Missing you

Every time I leave I miss you more and more….and then I remember that I carry you in my heart always.

Mystery

This time she wanted to be sure I knew she had been there. I collect heart-shaped rocks at the BH because they remind me of my mother. Sometimes they find me,

peace

Just as, even on a cloudy day, the sun is still shining behind the clouds, peace is always there inside you, no matter what is going on around you or to you. You always have this refuge.

destination

a change of just a few degrees at the beginning of a voyage brings you to a completely different destination. My destination today.

Good Morning Sun

img_4389

I saw the sun reflecting off the windows of the old Coast Guard station this morning, and it reminded me of how a realization slowly arrives, a bit at a time. First we come across a new idea, and as it develops, if it resonates with our soul and personality, gradually we make it our own, embracing it and integrating it into our life view. New things come along every day. We should make room for them all!

Dark

img_4283I wasn’t always a morning person. These days I enjoy the dark quiet hours while the world awakens, when my thoughts are closer to the surface and I listen to their wisdom.

Fog

It was a perfectly foggy grey day. Wind and raindrops serenaded my writing practice, as they should. They kept me on the sofa working hard rather than roaming the beach for sea glass. Thank you nature, my dear friend.

Patience

I find these heart-shaped rocks on the beach across the street and bring them back, and place them together with the others, as a reminder to cultivate patience and compassion. I have hundreds of these hard little reminders to soften my own heart, and understand. It works pretty well.

Dawn

imageIt is a perfect morning here on the porch wrapped in a blanket. The smell of the sea air, the bird calls echo through my childhood memories, and the sun on my face makes me smile. May this day bring peace and happiness, purpose and light, understanding and rest. Aho.

Childhood

imageWatching them, I remember. The push-pull of the waves receeding past your feet; the icy-cold numbness because you wanted to jump one more wave, and then one more; the screams; the laughter; the racing back for your towel, to sit in the sun and warm up. A day at the beach is childhood.
