A New Day

Yesterday was frustrating because of internet problems….I won’t go into them all….but they will limit what I can post. I need to bring my iPad with me for photos, so hopefully that won’t be too awkward.

The knitting project switched, for those wha have been following….no HP hat, but a purple scarf

Bless my driver yesterday, I asked if he could take me to the place where I needed to pick up my Paris Pass before taking me to our hotel. He hesitated, but eventually said yes when I explained my timing predicament. I told him his mother would be proud of him 🙂

And, last but not least, meeting Nathalie and Rene. I haven’t seen Nathalie in well over 20 years!!

N and R took us to a fabulous French restaurant for dinner last night. The photos I took are unavailable to show, but just know, Emma had her first fois grois, uh oh, I think. I misspelled that! But you all know what I mean. The food was outstanding, and the diners were still arriving when we left at 11! Back home to a shower and bed.

Today we go all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower….Emma thought we were climbing the 1620 steps! Hahahahahaha!

Harry Potter Studio Tour

Ok, Harry Potter fans, this was your day!

It was a long bus ride out of town, and I don’t mind bragging that I figured out how to change trains to get us to Victoria  station, this country bumpkin girl.

This was the best day yet! This is where the movies were shot and so, all the sets, props, and costumes are here: the dining hall, the street where Harry bought his supplies before starting at Hogwarts, videos about the animals, special effects, models, drawings, everything!

This model was outstanding! Two stories tall, and the size of a small house. Walking the perimeter of the room, gradually coming to the base of the model, the lights slowly dimmed in the room and those inside the castle turned on. beautiful!

I took over a hundred shots…everyone was trying to keep out of each other’s way as we tried to photograph everything. There was a lot to see…two entire sounds stages.

then on to the shop! I bought a gift for Doug, and resisted all else…too expensive. Emma wanted a wand, and an owl for her brother, and vomit flavored jelly beans! Ewwwwww!

The bus ride back, and the tube ride too, and it was so late, we picked up supper at Whole Foods!

Image

Emma got yogurt in a sweet little lavender ceramic pot, i got brie, and we both Got fruit and milk. I brought GF crackers with me….good thing!

Time to hit the shower, and then the hay….Chunnel tomorrow, and Bonjour Paris!!
