the same

whatever color we are on the outside, we are all growing the same on the inside, unfolding into this precious moment, bit by bit…..

Stillness

It’s a gift to be still.

Nevermind the admonitions, just do it…..and enjoy.

New Faces

The first to lift their faces to the morning sun, they bring joy and peace on a cold late winter morning.

Permanent

Practice makes permanent. What happiness music brings! What a glorious sense of accomplishment, and how powerful one feels when one puts effort into something challenging and beautiful.

Dance

Danny Kaye said we should throw all the paint we can on the canvas we call life. I say we should dance and celebrate and laugh ourselves silly. Joy and friendship and magic is your birthright. I’m going to the beach house today and soak up the sunshine and grab all the love I can. What about you?

Conditioned

image

Like these fellows who thought I had food for them yesterday, we’re all conditioned. I have been listening to teachers and gurus talk about many subjects over the years, and the one that gets me thinking the most is how we are conditioned to make choices based on fear rather than love.

I have celiac and must choose carefully what and where I eat. Unfortunately that choice has always been based on avoiding a problem rather than enjoyment. I am now ready to choose from love, to support my body’s health and happiness, and eat joyfully. Like these guys!

Joy

While she was dancing we went shopping. He made it fun with his sense of humor and silly antics. Joy is infectious because it is our natural state. His laughter made me forget everything I was wondering about, and the day ended with a smile and a hug. Bliss.

December Enlightenment

There’s been entirely too much time since the last post! Ah, me. September was a time of getting back to ‘normal’, after a kidney summer and the Scotland trip with this year’s 10 year old kidney. Unpacking, catching up, sorting through photographs. Then, not too long after I returned our Slovakian son Dan came for a visit. He was an AFSer in the mid 90s. A couple of days afte Dan flew home, the Arizonz kidneys arrived for a week of fun. Their cousins came up for a weekend, which we packed with as much fun as possible.

Family time is precious. The boy got to show off his stormtrooper costume we made for him

and on their last night here we enjoyed a meal together at my favorite gluten free restaurant, Burton’s Grill.

My knitting projects have gotten less than the usual attention since I’m having some RSI issues, but I am working on socks a bit.
image

I had the guts to throw out a sweater project that just wasn’t coming together. It was a brave act and I did feel badly for a day or two, but what a relief it is to not have to struggle to make it right.

I’m starting quilts for the kidneys when they’re here.

And I’m working the Pay-It-Forward projects. I can’t show photos of those as they are surprises!. My new project is ‘365’-a photo of my garden every day made into a rememberance book for when we no longer live here.

I’ve been posting more in Instagram (the link is to the right), and decorating.

Now that the holidays are upon us, I am busy writing for my free course “December EnLIGHTenment. It gives me such pleasure to gift this to students and friends. If you need some joy and magic this season, let me know and I’ll put you on the list.

Blessings to all.

Vision and Joy!

And I decided for certain to create a new online course for December, and it will be free ! It’s my gift to students and friends and it will ultimately be a gift to myself.  Like with the December scrapbook I wrote about last week, I look forward to enjoying the light of the season even though it’s a very busy time. Twenty four days of magic, inspiration, and connection that will increase our joy and bring a true sense of peace during the holiday season. Leave a comment if you are interested in learning more,  i’m writing up the description today!
