New Season, New Kitchen

It has been chaotic around here with the kitchen renovation happening right under my feet. I have kept myself sane with knitting, of course!

Image

Wonderful soft and comfy socks. I think I’ll make another pair!

And a non-knit item for the girl’s birthday, a felt needlecase.

Image

As you can see I still haven’t finished the quilt for the boy 😔

Here she is wearing the skirt.

On her way to see Matilda on Broadway for her birthday. So glad that project is done. It had its own crazy issues. Oy!

Here are the projects I’m working on-please excuse the upside down, sort of, photo, the kitchen is blocked off and I can’t retake it!

Image

This is the one with the cables at the neckline. Yummo! I love working with this yarn. Perfect tension.

And then this wonderful color!

All the pieces are finished, just waiting to be put together.

Then this gorgeous thing:

Yeah, this is the one that’s upside down, but you get the picture, right? It’s called Afterlight, designed by Amy Herzog. I am so looking forward to finishing it up, and wearing these chilly spring evenings. I better get going!

Lastly, I have bungled the socks I am making. As you can see, I have knit past the spot where the heel begins, so I must rip it out….sigh.

Til next time folks…carry on and stay in touch.

Missing photos

Two photos are missing from the last post-strange. Anyway, here they are….and here are the tags from that last post too!

Creating Every Day

The all white quilt needed some repair before I could use it on the Seasonal table, (it will be snow). A cup of tea, and working in the sun on the studio floor.

More quilting-I love that green and brown fabric

All 5 hats are dome! No pompoms though, they are the last thing on my list of things. I love to do!

Next project-scarf for one of the kids in my life

And a few more pages for the Vision book

Creating

Creating a new course called December EnLIGHTenment, which is free as a holiday gift to students and friends. I am teaching what I need to learn and that is feeling the joy and magic of the season every single day. It’s going to be a sweet and delightful 24 day journey!!

And of course there’s the quilting

Projects!

There’s a lot going on here. Well, Christmas is approaching, but the vision book is growing too.

Image

Beginning with a glass of wine and a snack, I worked a bit on the vision book. Will this be the hub and I in a few years? 🙂

Gathering photos, pictures and such. Some to be used now, some later.

This weekend at the beach house has been designated for basting the quilt for Christmas. Starting-

And finished! Now for the hand quilting.

I have a new project: a December scrapbook. Every year I try hard to enjoy the days leading up to Christmas, but there are always so many things going on that I know I miss things. This year I am planning to make a scrapbook with a page for each day. I’ll take a photo and jot something down about the day-total experience! I’m prepping the book now so there’s no excuse when Dec 1 rolls around.

This is going to be good!

Going to bed early so I can see the eclipse at sunrise.
