Renewal

The freshness of a simple morning can make all the chaos and bewilderment recede. I am renewed each day.

Celebrate

The big day is upon us and rightly, the kids are showing up soon! I have decorated, knit gifts, wrapped presents and entertained myself with holiday concerts, plays and lightshows. I am ready! I’m ready for the best day of the year with all the ups and downs that come with it. I’m ready for peace, and that special family time we’ve planned. I’m ready for the joy and the lull after gift opening when everyone sits around playing with their gifts. I’m ready for our annual seafood Christmas Eve supper and the candlelight service at the UU church. I am so ready!!!

Summer Journey

I told her that her boy was coming!

All  is as it should be. That vacancy at the end of last summer is filled with smiles and hugs and “Can we go to the lake?” I have a smile also, a deep full-bodied smile. Every cell is smiling because the young ones are back in their rooms, back at the dinner table, back on the sofa in the morning with the cat purring on their laps. They are requesting their favorite food, playing their music, hugging the dogs, and laughing at their own jokes. We begin this journey through the hot summer days together with a cool sense of rightness. Yay us!
