Expectations

Watching these little ones every day from the kitchen window we are reminded how expectation seems to rule our lives, whoever we are. It’s enough to give one pause……

Softening

Softening into resistance, anxiety and fear dispels their power and I can breathe.

Difficulty

Aligning yourself with your Self dissolves all difficulty and opens the path in front of you.

Warmth

On these frigid days the buds know what is coming. Glory, bursting forth, pink & white, radiance, and contentment.

Ambling about the yard I came upon flashing red berries amid the gentle snow…..I had totally forgotten them. They are joyful even on a grey day.

Where are you going?

Resting is underrated in our culture, sadly. A lot has been written about the benefits though, so, I’m going to walk on over to that bench and rest in the garden today. I’m going to inhale the scent of the fringe tree, watch the birds in the feeder and let go of the to-do list.

Sweet as honey

My father always said this as he tried to get us to eat something we balked at……I remember his efforts with a smile. And honeysuckle brings a smile when inhaling it’s scent….it’s so sweet! Leaning over my fence, it entices the school kids to take a whiff as the walk by….I wonder if they do? Take time today to indulge your senses, whether it is to marvel at a glorious piece of music, watch the sun go down, or hug your beloved. These are the details that make life worthwhile.

Color

Surround yourself with color, your favorite ones, the delicate and the vibrant loud ones. Drench yourself in the beauty of this world…..it will change your life! Lift you up, or calm your heart. Indulge yourself!
