Autumn’s First Steps

This garden has been gently evolving for more than 25 years. Season by season it surprises me still. Pink phlox edging my steps on the bluestone paths. Yellow leaves sprinkling the boxwoods & Japanese maples. Gathering sage and the last of the basil, my fingers fragrant for hours after.
